Adult Driver Education and Training - San Diego
If you're 18+ years and have never driven before, you're not
alone! Thousands like you are getting their licenses every year
and American Driving School is here to help.
We specialize in teaching adults to drive. Our calm, patient, professional
instructors will take you comfortably through our step by step process
and help you become a safe, confident, and licensed driver.
THE WRITTEN TEST
You'll first have to take a written test. We can provide you with
study materials and in-home study assistance, as well as practice
tests to help you get ready. When you pass the written test, you
can be issued an Instructional Permit, allowing you to practice
with an Instructor or other licensed adult driver.
DRIVING INSTRUCTION
We have a complete curriculum for behind-the-wheel instruction.
Our Instructors evaluate your abilities and learning speed and provide
you with an estimate of the time it may take you to become licensed.
The Instructor will then set up a lesson plan to be given by the
Instructor, or split up between professional instruction and practice
driving with another licensed adult driver. When you're ready, we
can give you a practice drive test so you can feel confident of
passing the real thing.
THE DRIVE TEST
You'll also have to take a behind-the-wheel test at DMV. If you're
over 18, you can schedule an appointment and take the test at your
convenience. We recommend at least a professional evaluation and
a practice drive test before going to DMV for the real thing. The
DMV Examiners do not like to be treated as a driving school, with
adults taking the test to see what they need to learn.
